I love Guyana. I really do. But I have to admit that I hate one specific thing. I hate how news is reported here. I don’t “hate” it like how you “hate” Monday morning meetings or staining a white t-shirt. I HATE it with a white-hot fury that is definitely unreasonable and possibly unhealthy for my long-term mental wellness.
And yet, I don’t think I’m alone in this opinion. If you’re still reading this, you probably hate it too. I have been a journalist for over 12 years, having spent close to six of those years working in Guyana. Over those years I have seen some great stories as well as some stories that are so terrible that they are literally considered criminal offenses. (Please folks read the laws on youthful offenders and the media).
But like a glutton for punishment, EVERYDAY, multiple times a day, I return to my computer to scan the web for information that will be relevant to a Guyanese audience…. So what am I trying to say here? I’m trying to say that today is your lucky day, dear reader! I’m giving you the rare opportunity to exploit my news-scanning intellectual labor! FOR FREE! YES FOR TRUTH!
Instead of hurting up your head trying to process a story written by someone who got a 3 on their CSEC English, let me cut through the crap and find the stories that matter to you. Subscribe to The Culture Digest. Every weekday morning, at 6 am I will send you a daily digest of the top stories, trending topics, and relevant information from media houses in both Guyana as well as abroad.
All you need to do is send me your email so I can add you to the list! So don’t just sit there! Do it now!
Stay up-to-date
In addition to the news, The Culture Digest will keep you abreast with everything we are working on at Anira Guyana (Gonsalves Media Group). You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.
